Rutgerson Battcars

The Ruttgerson Battcar is manufactured from a unique low friction composite that is also self lubricating. These new cars can efficiently handle the pressure exerted by the battens on boats up to 38 feet. Rutgerson’s new Battcars also reduce wear thanks to their small size and rounded design. The geometry has been calculated to distribute strain evenly, which minimises the risk of the slide jamming.

Select the correct Battcar for the mast. There are six choices - Selden 1335/A013, HA89/16mm, HA90/19mm, New Selden C section, HA91/23mm and Big Wheel version for Z-Spar & Sparcraft. Then there are 5 options for connecting the Rutgerson Battcar to the sail. The 1530 series cars are ideally suited for cruising applications on monohulls up to approximately 38 feet in length. The 1535 high load series of cars are designed for cruising applications on monohulls up to approximately 50 feet in length. The 1540 limousine series car is ideally suited for cruising applications on monohulls up to approximately 60 feet in length.

The first decision is to establish which slide section to use for the mast. Please refer to the guide to the right.

Please note that these are general recommendations, based on monohull standard boats, cruising during average weather conditions. Selection of the appropriate product by the buyer shall rest solely with the buyer and we recommend you always consult and seek the advice of your local sailmaker for your given application.
